We stand clothed and afraid. We remain wrapped tightly in our human shell not showing our true selves out of fear someone will actually see us. We keep vulnerability tucked neatly folded in our pocket, not exposed to the light, hidden from all.
This is guarded securely by our reinforced walls of pain and hurt. Every past experience has placed a brick in its proper place to insure no one gets in.
We choose to close out truth, passion and love from a vulnerable embrace and instead, stand firm in discord, evasiveness and denial from that secure place inside those walls.
It appears easier to be closed and unavailable in that pain, instead of open, free and vulnerable with the potential of all things being possible.
We choose to not set ourselves up again to fall and remain on the ground floor of life.
We use excuses in place of actions. We choose to not take chances on the experience and remain comfortable in our uncomfortable state. Where if you make the decision to climb that love ladder, getting to new heights and finding more healing with every step, fear becomes a past thought and the moment of Love that you are, becomes life in abundance!
We are the keepers of our hearts, the giver and receiver.
No one can make you do anything, no action or words stops you, it is only you who has that power. You hold the key, you place it in the lock and you turn it. No one else does this for us, no one opens up what you choose keep closed. We look for the reasons of no, instead of the beauty in saying yes.
We swing our pendulum from one extreme to the other, believing that it is the answer because we did not like the result of the other place we choose to be in.
It makes sense to us to do exactly the opposite of what was, who we were and see the appearance of it being right because it is easier.
We tip the scales in what we believe is our favor and miss out in the balancing point that creates a whole different vibration.
Our vulnerability opens up new doors, a new creation comes out of that freedom and we find harmony in it. What we have sought was in the balance, not the extreme.
We believe we can’t have the “and”, we see it only being possible in the “or”. We end up manifesting the opposition to our desired place of being.
We continue to create from the focus of what doesn’t exist, the negative of what we believe is there and in doing so create that thing we are wanting to not exist. I don’t want this to happen, so I swing way over here, because what I did way over there didn’t work.
It only makes sense to do the exact opposite, right?
If one extreme didn’t work, then the polar opposite has to. Why wouldn’t it?
We can’t see it though, we can’t see ourselves in this course of action. It makes perfect sense to us, our wound has to be healed completely and that can only happen if I do the exact opposite of what I did before.
Even though we have seen balance work in other parts of our lives, in this wounded place, we cannot.
Even when pointed out, when we ask for input (if we ask) or if it’s communicated to us from a place of Love, we see an ulterior motive behind it. We wholeheartedly believe that what we are doing is righteous to us, for us and no one or anything can alter that mindset.
Humans are extreme beings by nature. We swing wildly for home runs, causing us to strikeout more than we would like. Swinging that way keeps us off balance and when the curve comes we swing right through it.
We look at the bat like it has a hole in it, when in truth, we had control of the bat, our stance and our ability.
There are a bunch of metaphors that can be used. We can talk about pieces of the puzzle or even get Biblical if we like, but in the end it all comes down to balance.
It is true in all parts of our life, giving and receiving Love as Love was designed by our creator.
Being vulnerable and allowing others a safe place to be vulnerable is a gift and has an beautiful essence and presence. Having the ability to listen and the ability to speak truth from that place of Love.
It sounds simple, because it is, but it’s not easy. Finding balance in and along our journey means that sometimes we have to put ourselves out there, to experience those things that inside we think are true, but we don’t “know”until we experience it.
If I remain closed or if I choose to remain swung over to the other side of what and who I was, balance seems just as far away as the other side of the pendulum frame.
I speak this from experience, I have hidden myself from myself in many different external vices. I have also withdrawn from life’s experiences out of fear that I may get hurt again.
I have allowed myself to be abused, mistreated and manipulated for fear of being alone or losing financial security.
The big T truth is if I fear something and act out of that place, it is exactly what happens. I have seen it play out time and time again in my life. In this writing I said “we” and “us”a lot. It should say “I” and “Me” more.
In every moment I choose where the pendulum swings.
I choose the wound, fear and a negative mindset or I choose experience, healing or a positive solution.
I get to be vulnerable as Love is in my giving and receiving.
The message is clear, has been, I have been hearing it for years. I choose how I hear it and I choose what to do with it.
If I really want balance, I get the opportunity to step into those things that have kept me off balance.
I get an amazing gift of seeing my reflection and doing something about it.
I don’t know much, I don’t know what to do all the time.
I do know that the answers aren’t big swings, doing nothing, missing out and not experiencing life with people who Love me.
I know it’s not being mistreated, being manipulated and staying where your value isn’t in who you are.
We all deserve to be seen, we all deserve to be Loved and we all deserve to live out a balanced, positive life full of our passions and our desires.
It’s time to put fear in its place, stop procrastinating and do what is going to make this gift of life, my best life!
We should all be doing that!
This moment is a good time to start!
